重訪安省九號公路 Revisit the Durham Road 9 in Ontario

In a sunny afternoon of Sept 11, 2011, I visited the Ontario 'Backroad' again: the Durham Road 9, also known as Ganaraska Road. It is 60 KM east of Toronto and runs eastward 50km to Rice Lake. Along the way there are many picnic sites, general stores, gas stations and even a few fast food stores carrying on an Ontario tradition that is generations old!
Although this route is close to Toronto and runs through the part of prosperous central Ontario, it lies inland from the lakeshore and has escaped the fate of urbanization from the metropolis. Here are gently rolling hills where several rivers have carved quiet valleys as they rush south to the lake. This route and the pictureques vincinity may bring the memory to the once prosperous era of 1850s.
