【Hong Kong Nostalgia】Aberdeen Reservoir was built in 1890 to provide water supply for the Southern District of Hong Kong Island. Reservoir of Aberdeen includes Upper Reservoir and Lower Reservoir. Reservoir is located in the country parks with hiking trails. It becomes a favorite place for tourists to visit.

Aberdeen Upper Reservoir, built in 1931, has a long stone dam, water valve house and a bridge. They were accorded as Grade 1 status by the Antiquities Advisory Board. I visited the Aberdeen Upper Reservoir, in addition to exploring the nearby pond to watch the scenery, I also tried from different perspective to appreciate the beauty of the environmental reservoirs and the towering dam. With my unexpected photographic mistakes committed, I have eventually created some special and amazing effects on this album.

【香港情懷】香港仔水塘，建於1890年，為香港島南區提供食水的供應。水塘分香港仔上水塘和下水塘。水塘周圍更設立郊野公園和行山徑成為遊人樂於到訪的好去處。

香港仔上水塘的堤壩、水掣房和壩下的長石橋，建於1931年，被古物處列為一級法定古蹟。我這次到訪香港仔水塘，除了遊覽觀看水塘附近的景色，也嘗試從不同的角度，去發掘水塘的幽美環境、巍峨建築，及從偶爾錯誤的攝影技術中創出一些意想不到的視覺效果。

【A History of 100 Years ● 百年歷史】

1. Aberdeen Reservoir was seen through the woods.

2. The water valve room was built in 1931 full of pragmatism in architecture which was under the influence of the Renaissance in Europe.

3. The pathway on the reservoir dam is long, straight and strong. In sunny day, visitors walk by, lovers stroll along and children come for picnic. Do you remember that here is one of the sites where the Japanese invasion occurred in war time?

堤壩上的行人道，又長又直，也很堅固。晴朗的日子，遊人走過、情侶雙依、小孩郊遊。你知道這也是日治時期戰爭的其中據點嗎？

4. Aberdeen Upper Reservoir was built in 1890, with a history of more than 120 years.

5. The reservoir was surrounded by planted shrub and woods to prevent landslide.

8. Visitors will stop by at the reservoir dam and gaze at the scene. They will also remember the traits of history left by the reservoir.

遊人走過大壩，不免停下來，眺望遠景，也會緬懷百年水塘留下歷史班駁的痕跡。

9. Sometime, we have made careless mistake which makes thing in a mess. I forgot to adjust the camera speed and the slow shutter caused over- exposure in my photo. I thought, to make the best, I prefer "high contrast" effect in presenting this photo.

有時，我們會不小心犯下錯誤，將事情弄到一團糟。我就因為忘記調整快門速度，過慢快門導致曝光過度。我想想，不妨將錯就錯，將照片以「高光」效果展示。

10. This is the result of my mistake. To make it better, I just make this photo look special by using "high contrast" effect.

11. To see the towering stone dam and momentum, we must go to the bottom of the dam for the shot!

【Images of Shadows ● 歷史的光影】

15. I like the combination of light and shadow. The sun casts the dam on the granite wall. Stone columns, texture, pattern of the stone railing, all form a fascinating picture.
