October 4 was a special day for me as I have enjoyed both music and photography: music gives me relaxation and reminiscence, photography inspires my creativity. I was glad to attend the concert presented by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta in Toronto. The concert conducted by the Music Director Yip Wing-sie was highlighted by the sheng (a 2000-year Chinese mouth-organ) soloist Loo Sze-wang in performing composer Chan Hing-yan's music "Twas the Thawing Wind", a North American Premiere. I remember the latter two who visited Toronto back in the 90s to perform in the inaugural concert of the Toronto Chinese Orchestra. Chan was the conductor, Loo was Sheng soloist and I was an erhu player in the concert. This has gone for nearly 20 odd years. This time, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta performed at the Koerner Hall of the Royal Conservatory of Music, just adjacent to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). I arrived earlier to take photography in the vicinity. The ROM building looks peculiar. The modern style of the new structure was added to the classic and elegant building of the old ROM. Such an advanced architectural style may not be accepted by the public. However, the appearance of geometric patterns has given me photography inspiration and revelation to accomplish this album of photo inspiration.

I like the new part of the ROM. It gives the pictures a lot of interesting lines. They are beautiful!

DeleteHaving seen your photos on architecture makes me recall a contemporary great architect Mr Norman Foster. Both you are very sensitive to line and shape! Many thanks for showing us the excellent works!
