The interior design of the Shrine is unique. It reflects the historical stories of the missionaries. The ceiling of the Shrine looks like the bottom of an inverted canoe, signifying the transportation means in river and the dwelling method with a canoe used by the missionaries. It denotes the significance of safety and protectionism. On the left of the altar are two niches containing 6 pieces of bones of the martyrs. An oil painting at the centre of the altar was drawn by Sister Mary Nealis in 1926 in memory of the 8 martyrs. The Martyrs' Shrine in Midland becomes the place of pilgrimate for the catholics from the world. In 1984, Pope Paul II made a pilgrimage to the Martyrs' Shrine.

加拿大安省米蘭市的殉道者朝聖地是紀念四百年前將天主敎信仰傳來加拿大原住民而被印第安土著虐殺犧牲的八位法國耶穌會傳教士。殉道者朝聖地教堂建於1926年,座落離多倫多以北150公里的米蘭市。是歐洲哥德式的建築風格。教堂就是紀念這八位耶穌會傳教士和天主教徒,其中五位在加拿大境內傳教的有安道•達尼爾、若望•貝巴、佳播•拉勒䝉、查理•賈尼葉及諾衞•沙巴尼。三位在美國境傳道的是依撒格•饒覺、賀內•谷比及若望•蘭德。谷比和蘭德是平信徒,其餘六位都是神父。
教堂的內部設計獨特,反映了當年傳教士的事蹟。教堂天花猶似翻轉了的獨木舟,譽意當年傳敎士用獨木舟作水上交通工具,並將獨木舟翻轉作居所之用,具有安全和保護的意義。教堂左方的兩個骨龕,存放了殉教士的六塊遺骨。教堂祭台的當中,掛了一幅油畫,繪畫了八位殉道的教士,是1926年,由瑪莉•尼迪絲修女繪畫以作悼念。米蘭的朝聖地教堂成為世界各地天主教徒慕名朝聖的勝地。1984年教宗保祿到訪教堂朝聖。

从这专辑中通过你的鱼眼镜头所拍摄宏伟的建筑物和构图非常特别,有气势!我去年感恩节路经过这教堂,很遗憾不能够进去也不知道这么多的历史信息。同时在其他作品中也展现了:神爱世人,甚至将他的独生子赐给他们,叫一切信他的,不至灭亡,反得永生。(John 3.16)
