A Lovely Erhu

《A Lovely Erhu》*
Adapted the structure of the verse "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.
- Poem and photography by Peter Bok

Whose erhu is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite happy though.
Full of joy like vivid daybreak,
I watch her laugh. I say hello.
She gives her erhu a shake,
And laughs until her belly aches.
The only other sound's the beep,
Of distant waves and birds awake.
The erhu is old, lovely and deep,
But she has promises to keep.
Following tick tock by the bed,
Sweet dreams come to her sleep.
Music sheets fly over the net,
With thoughts of melody in her head.
She moves her fingers on the strings,
Ready for the concert ahead.

*《Epilogue》: Inspired by the structure of the verse "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost, I composed "A Lovely Erhu" both in English and Chinese according to the structure of Frost's verse.
