Strolling at Scarborough Bluffs

Last year, I went to the famous Scarborough Bluffs cliff many times to take landscape photographs. I preferred taking photos of the snowy cliff in winter. This afternoon, I visited Scarborough Bluffs for a walk again. I went to the cliff edge and took a panoramic view of the islands of the Scarborough Bluffs Park. As accidents of people falling from the cliff increased tremendously, government eventually built a stronger fence to prevent people from getting too close to the cliff edge.
To take a better view of the scene, I risked my life to get around the fence in order to get closer to the cliff edge. Wind blew fiercely and moved my body slightly. I held my camera firmly and leaned against a tree closely on the cliff edge. Standing by the cliff , I felt my feet shivered because of my fear of heights. I was so scared that I might be blown off from the cliff. Finally I had taken several short but shaky video clips. However the effect is far from satisfactory!  Anyway, I have enjoyed an hour of stroll and photography on the cliff!

Photo equipment:
Lumix DMC-G10, Nikon D300s, Nikon GP-1 GPS
AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED
AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED

I met these 2 ladies on the beach and suggested them to go to the cliff for a panoramic view of the Park.  Arriving the cliff with beautiful scene, they delighted, yelled and waved to me.

  1. I find your pictures taken at the Scarborough Bluffs cliff very nice and have strong elements of saloon pictures. What is missing there perhaps may be a few eye-catching swimming suit girls.

  8. Very interesting, which also makes me wonder if I should set up a blog for myself and write down some of the things/events in my daily life that move me.
