《Visiting Gaohu Maestro Prof. Yu Qiwei》
Today I went to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to visit guzheng maestro Prof. Xu Lingz. She showed me around the teaching and theatre facilities of the Academy. Accompanied by Xu, I also visited gaohu maestro, Professor Yu Qiwei who is currently the Head of the Chinese Music Department of the Academy.
Ten years ago, I attended the second Huqin Festival of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. We first met at the dinner held by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. This is our second encounter since then. Professor Yu was hospitable and his chat was entertaining. He has a unique experience of gaohu's complex and selection of materials for making gaohu. While Xu and I were having lunch in the canteen, I met Professor Clarence Mak, Associate Dean of the School of Music, Head of Composition and Electrical Music. Prof. Mak’s work "Unfettering in the Misty Mountain" was one of the repertoires performed by Prof. Xu in the “Passion of String Melody Concert” with the Ontario Chinese Orchestra in Canada.

《探訪高胡演奏家余其偉教授》:
今天往香港演藝學院探訪古箏演奏家許菱子教授，她帶我參觀學院教學和劇院的設施。在她的陪同下，也拜訪了高胡演奏家，現任演藝學院中樂系系主任余其偉教授。十年前，我出席香港中樂團第二屆胡琴節，中樂團晚宴中與余教授伉儷初次認識，這次是第二次會面。余教授好客健談，對高胡的情義結和選材有獨特心得。我與許教授在學院飯堂午饍，巧遇演藝學院音樂學院副院長、作曲及電子音樂系主任麥偉鑄教授。許菱子教授為加拿大安省中國民樂團《琴箏龢鳴》音樂會演奏其中一首的樂曲《自在山雲間》，正是麥教授的作品。
