Last year in June 2011, I drove along 16th Avenue, near Kennedy Avenue. I saw a farm. In a sunny day with blue sky and clouds, the farm scene displayed an extensive grassland. I parked my car across the street and took photographs of the beautiful scene. Later I learnt that the farmland was sold to the real estate developer for building a residential estate there. A few days ago I visited the farm again and found that it was closed. The construction truck was tilling soils and bulldozer piling soil dunes. The former beautiful scene of the farm has gone.

去年六月，行車經過多倫多的16街夾肯尼地大道，發現路旁的一個農莊。藍天白雲，農莊擁有一幅廣闊青蔥的草地。我停車對面的商場，拍下農莊的美景。後來得悉，地產發展商已購買這幅地，要發展成為住宅區。日前重臨此地，農莊已關閉，工程車已翻土，泥土推積如山，舊日的美景不復見。

What a loss!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you're such a dedicated photographer, my thumbs up! I bought my first camera when I was about 20 but I gave it up since digital camera in the market. Until my son and son-in-law coached me the technique of this new tool I picked it up again in the last 5 years. They also help me to use Photoshop and Lightroom to replace my old-day dark room. So, photographing will accompany me to walk through my remaining golden years.

ReplyDeleteIt never occurred to me that you are an amateur photograper; not only that, you are also a writer on top of being an erhu player ...... leader in advancing the use Chinese musical instruments. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful shots that you captured, the subtitles that you wrote, and the opening verses depicting your thoughts and feelings at those moments.
